Discipline Boot CampDespite the good intentions of hard-working educators, school districts across the country commonly struggle with an over-reliance on 1:1 paraprofessionals to support students with disabilities. Eight years ago, Patrick Mulick began the journey of leading his district in reducing this discrepancy and today has some intriguing results to show for it. Through the targeted use of floater paraprofessionals, intentional professional development, the creation of Independence Plans, and intentional leadership moves, Patrick will show you the systemic changes that can be made to help shift from a culture of over-dependence.
